The login is the camera's device password, not the email and password of a Reolink cloud account. On a Reolink NVR, cameras are reached through the NVR's address with the channel number in the path: _02_ for channel 2, _10_ for channel 10.
Switch on RTSP and ONVIF
Older Reolink firmware had RTSP on out of the box. Current firmware ships with RTSP, ONVIF and the other network services switched off, and a firmware update or reset can turn them off again. That is the most common reason a Reolink camera that "used to work" is suddenly unreachable.
- Reolink app: select the camera → Settings → Network → Advanced → Port Settings. Switch on RTSP and ONVIF and save.
- Web interface or Reolink Client: Settings → Network → Advanced → Port Settings (Server Settings on some versions).
- NVR: change the same settings on the NVR itself; the cameras behind it are streamed through the NVR.
Add it in IP Camera Viewer
With ONVIF on, tap Scan: the app checks Reolink's ONVIF port 8000 along with the standard ports, so the camera appears with its model name. Pick it, log in as admin, and the app fetches both streams. For a manual setup, enter the camera's IP address and choose the Reolink preset, which fills in h264Preview_01_main; Find Stream Path also tries the sub-stream. An NVR found by scanning is split into one camera per channel.
For a grid of several Reolink cameras, or for viewing over a VPN, the sub-stream is the better choice: Reolink 4K main streams run at 6 Mbps or more.
Battery cameras, doorbells and Wi-Fi models
Reolink's battery cameras, including the Argus and Go ranges, sleep between events to save power and do not offer RTSP or ONVIF on their own. If yours is paired to a Reolink NVR or Home Hub, check whether that device offers a stream for it; otherwise the Reolink app is the only way to watch.
Wired Reolink doorbells and the mains-powered Wi-Fi cameras do have RTSP, behind the same Port Settings switch. On 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, a 4K main stream often stutters even in Reolink's own app; use the sub-stream or move the camera to 5 GHz if it supports it.
Troubleshooting
- Camera Unreachable after an update: RTSP or ONVIF was switched off. Turn them on again in Port Settings.
- Authentication Failed: you used the Reolink cloud account instead of the device password, or the password was changed in the Reolink app.
- Stream Not Found on a 4K model: try
h265Preview_01_main, or use the sub-stream. - Found by scan but login fails: check the camera's date and time; ONVIF logins are refused when the clock is far off.

What is the Reolink RTSP URL?
rtsp://camera-ip:554/h264Preview_01_main for the main stream and h264Preview_01_sub for the sub-stream. Some 4K models serve the H.265 main stream at h265Preview_01_main. On an NVR, replace 01 with the channel number.
Why did my Reolink camera stop working in other apps after an update?
Current Reolink firmware ships with RTSP and ONVIF switched off, and updates or resets can switch them off again. Turn them back on under Settings → Network → Advanced → Port Settings.
Do Reolink battery cameras support RTSP?
Not on their own. Argus, Go and the other battery models sleep between events and offer no RTSP or ONVIF. Mains-powered cameras and wired doorbells do.
What ONVIF port does Reolink use?
8000, rather than the port 80 most brands use. IP Camera Viewer checks port 8000 when it scans.
Can I view the cameras on a Reolink NVR?
